Welcome to Viera Middle School! I am Mrs. Clark the 7th grade school counselor. I grew up in Brevard, attended BPS Schools, graduated from Satellite High School. I worked as a Certified Behavior Analyst for the district for 8 years prior to switching into the counselor role. As a CBA I was traveling to multiple schools in the district and I realized I wanted more time with the students I was working with, so I could make more of a positive difference in their lives. I am so excited to be part of the Owl Team!

Hello Owls! I am grateful to be one of your school counselors! I love swimming, going to the beach and spending time with my family. I became a counselor to be there for students in any way possible and support them through each day whether it be in academics or mental health. My favorite part about my job is all of the conversations that I have with students and hopefully making a difference.

Mrs. Moss serves as our Guidance Services Professional, and Testing Coordinator. She wears a number of hats around our campus, serving in our guidance department, working as a 504 Contact and ESOL Contact, she helps with school-wide supervision, and works to support The Owlery, our PBIS store. She also organizes school-wide testing including our FAST PMs, PSATs, EOCs and Certification Exams.

School Social Worker

Hello! I am Janice Waltemeyer, and I am excited to serve as the school social worker at Viera Middle School. I enjoy working with students of all ages, building trusting relationships, and providing a supportive environment where all students feel safe. I have been a school social worker at Brevard Public Schools since 2018, after moving to Florida from Maryland. I earned my Master of Social Work degree in 2018 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2023. I look forward to supporting our students and families and helping every student feel valued at Viera Middle School.

Certified Therapy Dog

Blue is a 3 ½-year-old Goldendoodle who officially became a certified therapy dog in May 2025. He loves greeting all students and never turns down extra pets or attention. Outside of school, Blue enjoys chasing squirrels, running on the beach, going for car rides, and playing with his dog friends. He brings comfort, smiles, and a little extra joy to everyone he meets at school!
